Love cars and going to car shows. Would like to own an old car to
show at the car shows or to tinker with.
Went in the Navy in 1963 until 1967 when medically discharged.
Married 7 years to Joyce Plummer. Had one daughter, Kimberly.
Married Nancy Tschoepe Smith in 1975. Four step-children; Larry,
Caroll, David, and Scott. Lived in Wallingford from 1975 until 1992.
Then moved back ro Aston. Two granddaughters by daughter
Kimberly. One grandson with one on the way by step-daughter, Caroll.
Worked at Scott Paper Company until changed to Kimberly Clark
in Chester from 1967 until August, 2000, when medically retired.
All the fun times with all the people in Distributive Education and
Mr. McGorman. Putting Miss Scipione's VW inside the school.
Drilling a hole through all my school books and bolting them
together. Being one of the few to have a car to drive to school.

1944-2018 James E. “Jim” Sparklin, 73, of Lewes, DE, passed peacefully with his family at his side on July 20, 2018 at Beebe Healthcare. Born in Chester, he was the son of the late Natalie Eubank Lees and resided in Aston before moving to his last residence in 2011. Jim was a member of the first graduating class of Sun Valley High School in 1963, and he served in the US Navy from 1963-1967. He was employed by Scott Paper Co. (now Kimberly Clark) for 33 years before retiring in 2000. Jim was a member of the American Legion Post #28, Millsboro, DE. He loved cars, classic car shows and models; but most important to him was his family and his beloved dog, Levi. Jim was the husband of Nancy C. Tschoepe Sparklin, his wife of 43 years; father of Laurence N. Sparklin, Caroll B. Craig (Jeffrey), David A. Smith, Kimberly Sparklin and Scott A. Smith (Marcia); brother of William Sparklin, Nancy Marra, Robert Sparklin, Diane Lees and Mary Dziobczynski; also survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
