Vietnam War vet; Chester resident

David E. Robinson, 63, of Chester, died Jan. 30 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland.

Born in Upland, Mr. Robinson was a lifelong resident of Delaware County and a 40-year resident of Chester. He was a 1963 graduate of Sun Valley High School in Aston.

Mr. Robinson was employed by Sun Ship & Dry Dock Co. as a supervisor and pipe fitter for 20 years. He also served as a union official and shop steward at Sun Ship.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 926.

Mr. Robinson was a founder of the Patriot Pool League.

He was the son of the late Hess and Elizabeth Robinson and the brother of the late Vicki Robinson.

Survivors: Wife of 40 years, Sherry Bresset Robinson; daughters, Kelly and Kandy Robinson of Landenberg; brothers, Tom Robinson of Clifton, Danny Robinson of Aston; sisters, Joan St. Thomas of Hespenia Calif., Betsy DeLavder of Kenton, Del., Andrea Stevenson of Exton.

Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bateman Funeral Home, 4220 Edgmont Ave., Brookhaven.

Burial: Wednesday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
