Richard A. "Dick" Haines, 65 of Ridley Park, died January 27, 2011 at home.
Born in Chester, he lived in Milmont Park before moving to Ridley Park 23 years ago. He was a warehouseman at Wal-Mart in Glenolden for five years and previously worked at Gehr Plastics in Aston.
Mr. Haines graduated with the first graduating class of Sun Valley High School in 1963.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, was an avid sports fan, especially of the Phillies and Eagles and enjoyed trips to the casinos and loved fishing.
He was a founding member of the Milmont Republican Club, a member of the Darby Fire Co. #2 and was a former member of the Milmont Fire Co., but most important to him was his family.
Mr. Haines was son of the late Alan W. and Laura Nickerson Haines and father of the late Richard A. Haines, Jr. (Judy), who died May 19, 2009.
Survivors: His wife of 20 years, Judi Clancy Haines; children, Melissa Haines Dion (Fred), Norman Webb (Stacy), Rae Powers, Linda Collins (Joe), Nicole Davis and Donna Curran (Peter); brother, Alan N. Haines (Donna); 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; special nephews, Joe Gaffney and Joe Cooper; many other loving family members.
Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, where friends may call after 9 a.m.
Burial: Chester Rural Cemetery.
